This section looks at the important subjects of legislation, regulations and workplace policies and what the differences are. Then we look at how medications work to better understand how they can help someone.


Medications

In the medications section, we cover a lot of different subjects to ensure you have a good understanding of all aspects of medications. This includes different types of medications and the routes of administration. Side effects, storage and disposal are covered to endure you see the whole picture of the effects of medications and keeping them safe at all stages.


Administration of Medications

The administration of medications section looks at actually administering medications. Firstly, we hear from a Pharmacist on the importance of the instructions that come with the medications, Doctor and Pharmacist. Then we look at self-administration of medications. You will then learn about overdoses, contra-indications of medications and how to report a mistake should one arise. It is also important to recognise changes in the patient and take the correct action.


Discussing Medication

In this section, we discuss with a Pharmacist things like different storage types and dispensing of medications including blister packs. Then we look at other subjects like homely remedies and their importance to document and manage correctly, the whole MAR process and his comments on medication errors.
